Dancer, choreographer, teacher, artist.

In 2009 Azzie received a 1st class BA in Drama at the University of Exeter where she obtained both a conceptual and a technical training in various areas of performance-making, and where she co-founded a small dance theatre company.

 

After moving to London she began a career in acting before soon re-developing a stronger focus into dance and continuing her training in contemporary dance, as well as beginning her training in Fusion belly dance. In 2012 she began to teach and perform, and in 2013 she received a scholarship to undergo the Speaking Dancer Interdisciplinary Programme at the Dance Research Studio, with Jacky Lansley.

 

In 2014 she received a Distinction for an MA in Choreography at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, London, for which she also received a Trinity Laban Bursary Award, and in the same year began to work as an associate to the Digital Arts Performance-Lab (DAP-Lab), London.

 

In 2015 Azzie continued her training in Berlin during the Dance Intensive at Tanzfabrik, and now continues to work in Berlin as dancer, teacher and choreographer. In 2022 she received the Pilotprojekt Residenzförderung Tanz from the Senat in residence at Lake Studios, and in 2023 the Dis-Tanz-Solo funding for her current project.
